Mortgage rates were up slightly this week in Freddie Mac’s Weekly Survey. The 30 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage was at 3.11% in today’s Freddie Mac survey and the 15 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage was at 2.33%. Despite interest rates moving higher in 2021, the 30 year mortgage rates are still less than a half point higher than the historical lows set a year ago. Although, rates may rise over the longer term because of inflation, upward pressure on bond rates and other interest rates, and the anticipated cessation in purchases of new mortgage bonds by the Federal Reserve in the spring.
