Mortgage rates have leveled this week after their most recent rise to start 2021. The 30 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage was 3.18% in today’s Freddie Mac survey and the 15 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage was at 2.45%. After moving down steadily for two years, mortgage rates rose this quarter as yields on mortgage bonds and treasury securities shot higher. For perspective, rates still remain incredibly low on a historical basis and are only about half a percent higher than all-time lows.
