Mortgage rates dipped a little this week after rising most of 2021. The 30 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage was 3.13% in today’s Freddie Mac survey and the 15 Year Fixed Rate Mortgage was at 2.42%. After moving down steadily for two years, mortgage rates rose in 2021 as yields on mortgage bonds and treasury securities went higher. For perspective, rates still remain incredibly low on a historical basis and are only about half a percent higher than all-time lows.
